The University of Dayton (UD) SAMPE student chapter welcomes all interested individuals to attend SAMPE Day 2008. In addition, the chapter is currently seeking organizations or individuals with research or business experience in the various fields of materials science to present their work. Information will be presented in the form of lectures, poster sessions, product demonstrations, etc. SAMPE Day 2008 additionally offers an effective opportunity to recruit top science and engineering students for your organization. Hartzell Propeller, Inc. designs, develops, tests, manufactures, and supports constant-speed aluminum and composite propeller systems for the aviation industry worldwide. Founded in 1917 to work with the Wright Airplane Company in nearby Dayton, OH, Hartzell currently supports more than 250,000 propeller systems in service today.

Hartzell has four facilities with a total of 250,000 ft² in the Piqua, OH area. The main headquarters houses management, engineering, sales, and product support as well as aluminum-blade and all hub manufacturing. A second facility houses testing, and a third facility houses all composite-blade and spinner manufacturing.
